Experience a virtual journey through the Bergische industrial culture of past years with the Bergische Drei app.
Accompanied by our time-travelling reporter, 16 celebrities and traditional Bergisch professions are presented, from Count Engelbert to Wilhelm Conrad Roentgen and from the ribbon weaver to the delivery woman.
With the help of a GPS hiking map and your mobile phone, you can place the animated 3D protagonists “on the ground of reality” in augmented reality.
At five other locations you can immerse yourself in historical 3D worlds with VR cardboards and experience Tuffi's fall into the Wupper, the Müngsten Bridge under construction, Roentgen in his laboratory, Count Engelbert at Burg Castle and Eugen Langen in his suspension railway.
In addition, 360° photos give you a foretaste of visiting locations relevant to industrial history.
The project was funded by the European Union and includes the creation of digital content in virtual reality and augmented reality.
The content is licensed under CC-by SA and is part of the ERDF project "ERDF-REACT-EU - Recovery for tourism in the "Die Bergische Drei" region of the tourism region - Remscheid - Solingen - Wuppertal".
The project has been completed and is currently in the testing phase to attract new guests to the region.
