NivuTeam encapsulate the paper map and the compass into a simple easy to use Orienteering companion.
NivuTeam keeps the map constantly aligned to the magnetic north, so that the compass is not required.
NivuTeam allows for zooming in and out as well as panning the map to the desired location.
Use flow: Initially - invoke NivuTeam to pre-load the maps, into the phone or tablet memory when internet link is available (sometimes there is no internet in the field).
Just before start orienteering, enter a 3-digit code, given by the event organizer.
Try out a sample map with code 000 to get familiarize with NivuTeam.
NivuTeam would constantly turn the map so that it points to the magnetic north. NivuTeam does not use the GPS. You should use the joystick to drag move pan the map so that you can see the section of the map where you think you are. To zoom in, double click at the bottom half of your screen, to zoom out, double click at the upper half.
NivuTeam keeps the map on, and does not standby itself. Please be aware of battery power and do whatever is needed to save battery, so that it lasts until the end of the event.
