Do you know what a coffee tray is? Have you ever thought about how a heap is created? Or why a miner's cow was so important?
You can discover this and much more about mining with the coffee tray app.
The app leads you on an adventure trail around and over the Monte Barbara heap in Bexbach in the Saarland. At several stations you will learn a lot of interesting facts about the work and life of miners in earlier times with the help of texts, videos and pictures.
But watch out! We're not making it that easy for you. At each station we have questions about mining ready for you, with which you have to clear your way to the next station.
So ... download the app, grab your family and off you go on an adventure. I'll see you at the first stop.
By the way, “we” are Meike Hoffmann, Luisa Peehs and Nils Barbarics.
As students at the Galileo School in Bexbach, we trained as museum guides in the “Saarland Mining Museum Bexbach”. At the suggestion and with the support of our headmistress Gaby Schwartz, we took part as "Team Kaffeeblech" with the idea of a mining adventure trail in the "Shaft of Ideas" competition advertised by the RAG Foundation, and we won the first prize in Saarland.
With the help of the RAG Foundation and many supporters, we were able to put our idea into practice.
