The torrents of Hautes Alpes formed at all times, the major scourge of the department. Some of them have proved formidable producing "mudslides." This is the case of the torrent Verdarel located in the municipality of St Chaffrey. This is why the Geological and Mining Company of Briançon, nonprofit organization, is made a walking tour to take stock of it.
The main attractions are:
* The torrent of St. Elizabeth, the drawbridge and "folding doors"
* The torrent Verdarel:
- Bottom: the thousand-and widespread flood of 1856 and the developments of the torrent,
- Top of the moraine: the flood of July 9, 1981 ... and a beautiful view!
- High part: "active slip" and its consequences, the torrent Malatra.
The application presented here is the result of collaboration between the association and an IT company, Briancon IT Services.
It allows
* To identify to easily access the different sites
* Discover virtually or actually 7 sites geo-referenced through photographs, explanatory text or audio messages.

To use all the features of the application, it is desirable to have a smartphone equipped with a GPS and a map providing access to the Internet.
The first two sites are of course accessible to people with restricted mobility. The other four require walking on a height difference of up to a total of 400 m. It is not advisable to venture onto the course in case of bad weather. Some areas are dangerous. Supervision of children must be careful.
