The thinning app is aimed at forest owners and forest managers. With the app you can derive thinning approaches for pure and mixed stands based on the yield tables without long calculations. By default, 3 regional settings can be selected:
- Northwest New: New dynamic yield tables of the NW-FVA for the main tree species, supplemented with further yield tables for the secondary tree species
- Northwest Schober: Mainly the yield tables based on the collection by Schober, supplemented with further yield tables for the secondary tree species
- East Germany: For the tree species, East German tables are used where available
The app can be customized. In this way, further tree species and tree species groups can be defined and other yield tables can be assigned to the tree species. In addition, the target tillering degree and growth reduction factors can be set according to your own ideas for the yield table. More than 50 yield tables are stored.
