The main objective of evaluating body composition is to determine the percentage of fat. Among the various possible methods, the one involving the measurement of skinfolds can be quite accurate - if the equations to be used are well chosen. In this application the following equations were inserted:
Jackson & Pollock (1978) for Caucasian men, 18 to 61 years old, creases: chest, abdomen and thigh:
Dc (g/cm³)=1.109380-0.0008267(∑3DC)+0.0000016(∑3DC)²-0.0002574(age)
Jackson, Pollock & Ward (1980) for white women, 18 to 55 years old, skinfolds: thigh, triceps and suprailiac:
Dc (g/cm³)=1.0994921-0.0009929(∑3DC)+0.0000023(∑3DC)²-0.0001392(age)
Jackson & Pollock (1978) for black men, 18 to 61 years old, creases: chest, abdomen, thigh, triceps, subscapularis, suprailiac and midaxillary:
Dc (g/cm³)=1.1120-0.00043499(∑7DC)+0.00000055(∑7DC)²-0.00028826(age)

The main idea behind making this application available for Android cell phones is to make it easier for those interested to obtain fat and fat-free mass - which, in addition to being practical, can minimize the chance of possible errors when calculating everything "by hand". " (especially when the number of evaluated in the same opportunity is large).
It is worth emphasizing the great importance of carrying out reliable measurements - because everything follows from them (that is, if the measurement is not done well, everything that comes later, as one of my great teachers said, will not be good... .).
Associated with intelligence, this application can greatly collaborate in an evaluation process relevant to the routine of Physical Education professionals.
