Since the birth, enlightenment, until the death of Buddha Gotama, many supernatural phenomena occur naturally or due to the power of the Buddha. The mental powers that Buddha once exerted include: the miracle of the universe, splitting the water, anti-gravity, self-duplication, water-fire duality, body light, teleportation, seeing the past, mind reading, telepathy, skillful effort, and inner purification.
These things the Buddha did not to promote ego, but are masterful tips to inspire other beings who will be guided by the Dhamma. The Buddha did this for the benefit of many beings, for the happiness of many, out of compassion for the world.
In essence the Buddha taught that awakening to the truth is the highest miracle. The transformation of the greedy into generous, the hateful into compassion, and the dark into wisdom, that is a true miracle.
