The Knowledge Exchange Network Agroalimentario (RICA) is born as an interactive tool to respond to the need for exchange of information and technical knowledge of the Aragonese agri-food sector.
It promotes the professionalization of farmers, ranchers and industrial agrifood, who will share solving their problems, both technical and research experts.
RICA initially deal only with the sub-sectors: cereals, stone fruit and beef cattle. As well as related to those 3 subsectors, as they can be soil, irrigation, health aspects, economic activities, etc.
The RICA initiative stems from the Members of the Aragonese Agrifood Alliance (AAA) in the framework of a cooperation group approved by the Government of Aragon.
I lead: the Association of Agronomists of Aragon, Navarra and the Basque Country (project coordinator) and the College of Agricultural Engineers of Aragon, which act as beneficiaries.
Compose the rest of the members of the AAA: Agrifood Cooperatives of Aragon, Union of Farmers and Ranchers of Aragon (UAGA), Union of Small Farmers of Aragon (UPA), Association of Food Industries Aragon (AIAA), Association agrarian Young Farmers (ASAJA) and Official College of Veterinarians of Huesca, Teruel and Zaragoza.
In addition, also part of the group: the Center for Research and Food Technology of the Government of Aragón (CITA) and the Association for the Promotion of Integrated Pest Management (APROGIP).
