Apu lost his way, life became random. At one point, Apu and her son Kajal became engrossed in life again. That life doesn't feel good for long. Apu left her son Kajal with her childhood friend Ranudi in Nishchindipur and moved to Fiji. Once upon a time, Apu and Durga used to wander in the forest of Nishchindipur. After so many years, Apu's son Kajal wanders in the same place. In this way undefeated life flows from generation to generation.

The film is based on the last part of Bibhutibhushan Bandyopadhyay's Pather Panchali and the first one-third of the undefeated novel. The film tells the story of Apur's childhood, adolescence and life while studying in college in Calcutta. The film won 11 international awards, including the Golden Lion Award at the Venice Film Festival.
