This App indicates True North when the phone is properly aligned with the shadow of a vertical object.
The accuracy of the indication can be improved by correcting the solar time if necessary, as for example if Daylight Saving Time (DST) is in effect. The user must also indicate the location in terms of the current hemisphere; North or South. To further improve the indications an estimate of the latitude of the current position can also be indicated.
