This electronic dictionary was prepared within the framework of a scientific study on the topic “Current issues of Translation studies and linguistics”, which is devoted to the interpretation of paronymic words in English and Uzbek. This dictionary is significant in the system of paronymic words of Uzbek lexicography as the first work classified within the framework of English and Uzbek languages. The dictionary is composed of more than 800 paronymic pairs and is covered with the explanations of paronymic pairs in English and Uzbek. The dictionary is compiled on the basis of existing lexicographic principles, relying on the scientific conclusions of linguistic lexicographic scientists. This dictionary can be used as a source when teaching courses “Comparative linguistics”, “Lexicology”, “Theory and practice of translation” at foreign philological faculties of higher educational institutions, in the creation of dictionaries, textbooks, study guides, and in the preparation of various methodological recommendations.
