About Notarize
Notarize serves every American worldwide. Open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week—even during holidays. Average wait time is less than one minute.
Traveling abroad and need a document notarized? Can’t find a notary near you? Have a time-sensitive request after business hours? Say hello to Notarize.
How it works: Upload or scan your documents. Next, take a picture of your license or passport and answer a few security questions - this is how we verify your identity. Then connect with a licensed electronic notary via an audio/video call to sign and notarize your document. Once your document is notarized, you can download, email, and access the file in the app at any time.
Notarize also accepts documents that require more than one signer.
Notarize agents are held to the highest standards and have completed training, undergone background checks, and independently hold insurance in accordance with notary industry best practices.
Simply download the app to legally notarize any document, anytime, anywhere.
Notarize is the leader in online notarization, which is simpler, smarter and safer than notarizing documents on paper. Powered by Proof, the identity verification platform trusted for the most important transactions.

Solid concept undermined by a serious Puerto Rico verification bug.
The core concept of Notarize/Proof is solid, but the execution—especially for Puerto Rico users—is frustratingly broken. The app claims to accept Puerto Rico driver’s licenses for address verification, yet due to a clear UI/backend bug, the PR DL option disappears at the document capture step when it’s actually selected as the verification method. Support acknowledged the issue inconsistently, gave contradictory answers, and ultimately suggested incorrect “workarounds” (like selecting Alabama as a state) instead of fixing the underlying bug. This resulted in hours of unnecessary friction for something that should be straightforward. If you live in Puerto Rico, be prepared for avoidable headaches until this is properly fixed. Proof needs better QA around U.S. territories and more technically competent escalation from support.

Improve CX & Revenue Opportunities
Currently, a user who has a sign-in setup with Google is not automatically offered the ability to sign in with Google upon opening the app. It requires manual entry of a password and/ or resetting the password. This takes away from the general capability of Notary and potential revenue/customers. Overall, this fix would likely net you 100s of additional customers per month.
