About SD Talks

The UNSSC SD Talks App is a service by the UN System Staff College, functioning as a resource particularly for UN personnel as well as those interested in the current processes of the UN. It is a platform for knowledge sharing and discussions on all the three pillars of the United Nations’ work: peace and security, development and human rights. The interviews with high-level UN personnel include aspects on the post-2015 process, the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development as well as the UN Fit for Purpose strategy among others.

It provides expert opinions and current information not only on the processes that led to the adoption of the Agenda 2030 during the UN Sustainable Development Summit in September 2015 in New York but also operational measures to successfully implement each of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals, from addressing inequalities to the implementation and measurement of effective governance and peaceful societies. The SD Talks presents the opportunity for UN executives to talk about the challenges the United Nations’ face in making the UN fit for purpose, the role of UN Country Teams, latest developments in disaster risk reduction and many more within the context of the Agenda 2030.

The UNSSC SD Talks is an integral part to realize UNSSC’s mission: sharing knowledge, developing leaders!
