With the 1.7 update it has become solid again

The Tidal authentication update fiasco that led to users being locked out of the Discovery server for like a month DURING LOCKDOWN made me realize how vulnerable a purchase it was— since Roon Essentials basically just runs with this device. I will say once it all got sorted out the app works great and the improvements made it a GREAT fit for my personal case use scenario which is a straight up streamer using the internal dac for Qobuz and Tidal. I don’t have any files served but I’m planning to try that out once I decide if I’m adding Audirvana or not to rip my files in FLAC or just go with iTunes and rip ALAC since most all dacs can read those files and I’m not shelling out any money for the skin. The only thing I would say about this app is that it should be more flexible in endpoints that can be used and I would like to have the file path feature included that is in the full Roon . But I’m guessing that there is a chance one of the big companies that own multiple brands might just look to buy out ROON and then include it as their server software since Play Fi and HEOS aren’t the best. Again, this app is necessary for using the Discovery server so unless ELAC gives up and asks ROON for permission to offer the full version on their legacy devices we are stuck with it. But it’s still better than Play Fi and a bunch more out there...
