An internet connection is required for friend sharing and competitions, however maps and navigation do not require an internet connection.
Location Services is required for collecting statistics whilst the app is in the background and the foreground.
Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life.
The Snowzat app has been specifically designed to run all day in the background, collecting run statistics, with minimal drain on the battery.

See your resort and view the details for each run
In addition to tracking your runs, SnowZat provides a 3-D map of your resort. Zoom in on specific runs or lifts and tap on them to see the details. During the long dry summer, I’d look at the maps of various mountains and check out the details for various runs. It is interesting to see how some mountains categorize one run as black diamond while others categorize an equivalent run as blue intermediate. Update Dec 7 2021: Please consider putting the resort Ski Patrol number on the app for whatever mountain the app user is visiting that day. Even better- a button to call Ski Patrol in the event of an emergency. It is surprisingly common for bystanders to stand around an injured skier with no idea how to contact Ski Patrol and request help. Great app! It looks like California resorts will finally get skiable snow next week.
