The Jolocom SmartWallet App is your easy-to-use solution for digital identity management. It allows you to store all your credentials in one place and puts them under your sole control. Using the Self-Sovereign Identity technology, the SmartWallet allows you to request, store and present digital credentials that will allow you to identify and authenticate against many services in your day-to-day life.
The app is built on top of the Jolocom SDK, a fully open-source solution that follows the standards for Self-Sovereign Identity set in the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C).
As an additional feature, the SmartWallet also supports the German eID (Online-Ausweisfunktion), which lets German users to authenticate with services using their federal eID document. As of now, this feature is only available to pilot users in many regions of Germany, but a larger rollout is being prepared. To learn if you can use this feature, please visit the project website of your region, eg. ONCE (http://once-identity.de/) in central and western Germany, ID-Ideal (http://id-ideal.de/) in Saxony and SDIKA (http://sdika.de/) in south-west Germany. The pilots are supported by the German federal Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Action and will be run between now and early 2024.
