About R66 Cockpit Trainer
R66 cockpit trainer
Avoid hot starts and make yourself familiar with the startup process of the Robinson R66 turbine helicopter.
The complete panel and also the cyclic, collective, pedals and rotor brake are animated. All switches are working and need to be operated in the correct sequence in order to start the engine successfully.
You can choose from random failures or select a specific scenario such as:
- Hot Start (you will need to do the correct actions to abort the start correctly)
- Starter Sluggish (the battery voltage will be low and you need to make the right decision)
- MGT too high (there will be a high residual temperature)
- Oil Pressure Failure
Also there is an 'No Error Mode' This enables you to try all buttons, do all checks without any consequences. CFIs can use this mode to setup scenarios for their students.
The check begins with the 'Starting Engine and Run-Up' checklist (Battery, strobe switches - ON ... etc)
and concludes with N1 stable at 65% to 67%.
There is an in-app-purchase available that enables to begin the checks with the 'Before Starting Engine' checklist.
The app uses the initial cockpit design.

WHAT HAPPENED? I was having fun with this app, when suddenly the cockpit control center is now a very small thumbnail and is too small to use. I hope you’ll fix this soon. Never mind. I figured it out. I really like this app.
