Clunky and totally not smart

This app is so inadequate compared to where smart home technologies are today. Very clunky to just set a basic recirculating timer, numerous steps and latency, and frequently gives errors. To switch modes on the app requires to open up the heater (I kid you not) and program the controller using some complex sequence of hex codes. I cannot believe they did not spend a little more money on development.

There is a serious glitch since 10 months ago and it is not fixed yet

The app in general is pretty bad, the process of connecting it to the wireless module is painful because it is hard to put the module in the mode where it opens a wifi, and that state doesn’t last long. When you go through the app to the settings it doesn’t send you to the WLAN selection menu, instead to the Noritz app one. Once you connect, back in the app, when you have to select your home’s wifi, it only shows a small sets of the available ones and you cannot refresh, so if your wifi doesn’t appear at first, you are doomed to re-start the whole process from scratch. Finally and most importantly, once you manage to set it up, if you want to set a schedule for recirculation, bad luck, the app only works for AM hours and 1PM to 2PM. Any time later than that in the PM, magically converts from 3PM to 300.00AM, which fails to save for obvious reasons. I called to Noritz customer support and they try to help, and they are aware of the glitch in the app, but don’t know about any plans to fix it any time soon. So, terrible application, now I am stuck with manually activating recirculation 5 minutes before I take a shower, instead of having a schedule set up that matches my routines.
