AIPNBOA was founded on 27th September 1964.
AIPNBOA is registered with the Registrar of Trade Unions, Delhi under the Indian Trade Unions Act of 1926. It is a majority organization of officers in PNB commanding membership of about 90% officers. It is affiliated to All India Bank Officers’ Confederation, the majority Officers' organization of the industry level commanding membership of over 75% officers.
Main aims and objectives of the association, inter-alia, are: To maintain and promote amongst its members a spirit of service to the Bank’s constituents and the public in general and loyalty towards the institution, to take all steps to maintain a standard of efficiency and upright conduct consistent with the traditions of the banking profession; To protect and promote the interests, ights and privileges of the members; To co-operate or to federate with similar other Associations, or bodies in India.
The association has a membership of over 23000 officers of Punjab National Bank. It has its owned office at 306, Kirti Mahal, 19 Rajindra Place, New Delhi-110008 which it acquired in the year 1975. It holds periodic conventions in different parts of the country. It has cordial relations with the management and other unions in the bank. It is the sole bargaining authority on behalf of officers of PNB and is represented on the Board of Punjab National Bank through its elected representatives.
The Association has as many circle offices as PNB has. The circle offices of AIPNBOA deal with the issues of their circle with the respective Circle Incharge of PNB.
