According to IATA Resolution 753, airlines must track baggage at key points in the baggage journey including “Return to the passenger”. Traditionally when lost or delayed baggage is found or arrives to the destination airport, it is sent out for delivery via a contracted courier service. The airline loses visibility on the baggage from the time it is picked up until it is delivered to the passenger. This is where the Worldtracer Baggage Delivery Service (BDS) platform of apps comes in play by providing a technology platform to courier companies to facilitate their workflow in addition to helping the airline comply with the IATA resolution.
WorldTracer BDS is a two component solution:
-A native mobile app that enables the driver uses to pick up, schedule, and deliver the bags to the passenger (gets delivery signature confirmation).
-A Web App designed for the dispatcher of the courier company to view bags available for pick up and schedule the drivers accordingly. The dispatcher has the ability to run billing reports and locate drivers on the map.
Features include include embedded soft scanning, delivery signature confirmations, offline capability, maps integrations, and more.
