The eCMID Accredited Vessel Inspector (AVI) Scheme requires its Inspectors to pursue a programme of Continuous Professional Development, thus enabling them to maintain their knowledge base, standards and competency levels proving to both the scheme managers and those who engage AVIs that they are current in the market place. The Continuous Professional Development programme has been endorsed by IMCA and is a mandatory requirement for Inspectors if they wish to maintain their accreditation. Up-to-date Continuous Professional Development records will be necessary for any Inspector who is seeking to renew their AVI status annually.
Continuing Professional Development and the eCMID AVI programme are managed through the Marine Surveying Academy head office team, based in Portchester, UK.
AVIs are expected to achieve a minimum of 10 Continuous Professional Development points accrued over a one-year period from the date of their accreditation. After the one-year period is completed the points table will be reset back to zero. A guide on how to earn points and the table can be found at https://bit.ly/2laurV7.
