The original idea I had was writing a book about the saloons of Colorado. That idea expanded to a mobile app instead. The "Old West" has always been fascinating to me, as well as the rugged Southwestern United States. I am fascinated by the history of the Native American Indians, the Spanish Conquistadors in Mexico and their missions, the Mexican culture, their food and drinks. And of course the mountains, mesas, canons, deserts, and wildlife of the Southwestern US.
The Cantinas of the Southwest app is really an expansion of my fascination of the Saloons of The Old (and New) West, and is related, but different. I think that a separate app to celebrate the Mexican culture of the Cantinas makes sense to do. The app shows the motif, and the language, of the cantinas, which is different than the "Western Style Bar" we know as a saloon.
I hope that the Cantinas in this app make you want to walk up to the bar and say "Tequila shot amigo!"
