Not up to potential
Was an IR scientist as part of my career in the USAF where we in our lab at Hanscom AFB MA engaged in field measurement programs and designed and built ruggedized field IR interferometers. I applied my experience to air pollution monitoring as an independent researcher after retirement and bought a WaveGo spectrometer to apply in my field work. I experienced immediate issues with connecting to my iPhone and got good assistance from the mfr. Next big problem was that it suddenly ceased to turn on. Requests for help went unanswered so I was forced to draw on my lab experience to repair it myself. I discovered a design flaw in that 3 micro pins that ride in tracks to depress the faceplate to turn it on are under sized and fall out of their holding tabs. I have machined tighter fit replacements and corrected the issue but Now in testing find that the app will not start nor does delete and repeat download from the App Store fix that. Very annoying. This spectrometer was a $2000 investment some three years ago and has fantastic possibilities but has severe design and support weaknesses that need attention.

Spending $2k for a device that the app doesn’t work and they tell me they will look at in in 3 months unacceptable. Works with android, iPhone but not iPad, which I use with Lidar app.
