The firefighters managed to contain the fire through courage and perseverance. Following the Parisian motto "Fluctuat Nec Mergitur", the cathedral was damaged but not destroyed.
Since then, everyone has come to contribute to the collective effort of restoring this magnificent structure. Today, we want to make available thisapplication telling nine centuries of History. Through this virtual tour, everyone will be able to remember this jewel of the Gothic architecture as it will never be the same again.
For almost 10 years, smArtapps has been supporting cultural and heritage institutions worldwide, but above all, we are a team of art, history and heritage lovers who also wish to contribute to the memories and the survival of their Parisian cathedral.
“Notre-Dame de Paris is, in particular, a curious specimen of this variety. Each face, each stone of the venerable monument, is a page not only of the history of the country, but of the history of science and art as well.” - Victor Hugo, The Hunchback of Notre Dame
