ClinTrial Refer App connects doctors & patients to recruiting clinical trials. ClinTrial Refer is a not for profit owned by Sydney local Health district and South Eastern Sydney Local Health District. The app was initially launched for Haematology trials in NSW in 2013 and following on from the success experienced with the in the app in this space it was decided to make the app a template that is available for license in other disciplines. Results of the effectiveness of the App for Haematology NSW have been published – see www.clintrial.org for more information.
Current ClinTrial Refer Apps include several different specialties which can be downloaded individually. Amongst these are the ANZMTG, TROG, Breast Cancer Trials, Sydney Health Partners and Sphere. This platform is linked with the ANZCTR/clinicaltrials.gov to download trial information easily. Then add extra fields, such as mutation status, cohort management, tele-trials identification and more. Put your locations attached to the trial, with contact details. There are 850+ sites in the platform spanning Australia, New Zealand and 9 other countries so far. The App is free to public access.
We think it’s important that patients are empowered with information that can be useful to making decisions that impact their health. The app is a great way for people to learn about and connect to therapeutic interventions in their development phase. These options can be especially important in circumstances where current treatment interventions are ineffective or there are none.
