About CERT Certification Preparatory

The CERT Certification Preparatory Course course provides interactive training materials to enhance or replace classroom training to allow participants to gain requisite knowledge in FEMA materials as part of the qualification of becoming a community emergency response team member. Materials cover Disaster Preparedness, Fire Suppression, Medical Operations, Light Search and Rescue Operations, Psychology and Team Organization. Successful completion may qualify a participant to participate in skills assessment with their local CERT coordinator.

I haven’t explored the whole app but I didn’t see that the triage unit gave feedback on accuracy. I’d also give up the VR for a larger 2D randomized collection of patients to evaluate. However, with the reduction of triage in the updated national curriculum because some localities were nervous about lay rescuer responders making a choice that could actually save lives, I’m glad to see more opportunities for lay-rescuers to practice this critical skill. And ignore the troll who didn’t even know the app was free, and probably didn’t have a clue it’s meant as a companion to formal training (if he knows what companion means).
