Tools to determine Pipe Buoyancy, External Load Design, Flow, Pricing, Rep locator, and Truckload calculator that are utilized to design and build projects using PVC pipe.
All applications have an option to print the results once determined.
Buoyancy Calculator
The Buoyancy Calculator allows the user to determine the buoyancy force of PVC pipe during construction as well as once the pipe is installed and in use. The user chooses the pipe from drop down lists, inputs the Specific Gravity of the fluid around the pipe, the Unit Weight of the backfill material, the Concrete or Flowable Fill unit weight, and the amount of water in the pipe.
Output allows the contractor to know the maximum height of each lift of Flowable fill or Concrete placed before floatation occurs, the minimum soil cover in feet with pipe empty to prevent floatation, and the Buoyancy force per foot length of pipe when empty or full of water.
External Load Design
This application allows the user to estimate the percent of ring deflection in buried flexible pipe utilizing the Modified Iowa Equation. This equation has been used since the late 1950’s to accurately calculate expected maximum deflections. The application follows the latest methods outlined in AWWA M23 and allows the user to choose each of the input variables based upon specific known conditions and also offers the option of selecting inputs from recommended values.
Flow Calculator
This calculator provides Friction loss (psi), Velocity (ft/second), and Fuel costs in dollars per hour for comparable pipe products under comparable flow conditions. It may be used to compare different diameters or different pipe products to allow the user to choose the best pipe to be used for the design as well as for life cycle costs used in value engineering of projects.
Pricing
The Pricing calculator allows the user to choose the PVC pipe use whether Agricultural or Utility pipe and input the Block price. The output is in dollars per foot of pipe.
Find A Representative
The application allows the user to choose the PVC pipe use whether for Agricultural of Utility and then choose the Nation that the pipe representative works in from a drop down list. Once a Postal Code in entered the output shows a picture and contact information for the Diamond Plastics Corporation sales representative in that area.
Truckload Calculator
The application allows the user to choose the nearest Diamond Plastics Corporation PVC pipe manufacturing facility from a drop down list. The user can then choose from Water, Sewer, or Ag products, the pipe type and input the quantity desired. The output will indicate the percentage of a truckload that the chosen pipe and quantity will occupy for shipment.
