Take a front-row seat for this virtual experience of Redirecting the Pipeline, an original musical written and performed by the Storycatchers Theatre Changing Voices ensemble. Woven with interactive behind-the-scenes interviews with ensemble members and Storycatchers teaching artists and filmed in Steppenwolf’s 1700 Theatre, Storycatchers VR is the next best thing to seeing a Changing Voices show live.
Storycatchers Theatre is a Chicago-based non-profit that works with youth in the juvenile justice system to help them tell their stories through musical theatre. The Changing Voices program employs young people between the ages of 17 and 24 who are on parole, probation, or post-release. Through Changing Voices, ensemble members receive wraparound services and work with both case managers and artist educators for 30 hours a week while being paid at Chicago’s minimum wage.
By moving beyond their histories, participants transform their lives, their communities, and people like you who are ready to listen.
