About NthKey

Your iOs device in a Bitcoin multi-sig

A good way to store your precious Bitcoin is to use a combination of different devices, such as hardware wallets. Each device produces one signature, and by combining these the coins can be spent. This app lets you add the Secure Enclave on your iPhone or iPad to this setup.

Sounds complicated and scary? Don't worry, you can try everything for free using Bitcoin's testnet and signet; those coins have no value so you can make mistakes.

Upgrade to the subscription once you're ready to use this with real coins.

This app is not a full fledged wallet. Its sole job is to sign transactions and to verify your receive addresses. For your wallet we recommend the free and open source application Specter* Desktop. It makes creating and using a multi-sig wallet a breeze. Specter even installs a Bitcoin Core* full node on your computer, which downloads the blockchain, tracks your wallet balance, crafts a transaction, estimates the perfect fee and broadcasts it to the network once you’ve signed.

There's a tutorial that takes you through all the steps.

Note: there's no vendor lock-in. You can even import your nthKey recovery phrase into a different hardware wallet any time you want.

* = Specter and Bitcoin Core are completely independent of and not affiliated with nthKey, although the app author does occasionally contribute to to those projects.
