About Draft Bid

What is the fairest fantasy sports draft method? Many would argue to the merits of an auction style draft. Every player has an equal opportunity to bid for and acquire any player they choose. Getting that cornerpiece running back, hitter, pitcher or shooter isn't just the luck of the draw...or by some random number generator on the Commish's computer! Unfortunately an auction style draft is not practical for most leagues. It requires a live auction with all teams in attendance, over a fairly significant amount of time. It also requires a whole different level of preparation that most of us just don't have time to commit! But if you've played fantasy sports long enough, you've probably realized that it's a nice advantage in most years getting those early picks in snake drafts - and drafts are usually accompanied by complaints from those unlucky teams that draw the last few spots.

So what's the answer: DRAFT BID. This app allows leagues to run their usual snake, third round reversal, or any other serpentine type draft method, but gives players the opportunity to bid for the draft positions they want most. Leagues can determine their own maximum bid amount, and the winning bid for each spot can be added to the league pot to increase payouts! If multiple players bid the same amount for a pick, it then comes down to a random draw, but at least the winner pays extra into the pot for their good fortune! And Draft Bid allows up to three bids, so players can bid on the draft positions they want the most, and also try to outsmart the competition by going with positions that may be just as valuable to them, but less popular to others. Add strategy and incentives into your fantasy draft order selection, while maintaining the simplicity of a snake draft!

The app also includes a handy league manager tool to keep track of dues, bids and other league finances. Easily send out reports or results in either picture (.jpg) or spreadsheet (.csv) formats.

Now use the app to run the popular Kentucky Derby Style draft method, or just use it as a random order generator. Handy app for any fantasy league commish!
