Don’t buy this game
It’s a great game, but you’ll never finish a game of it, because it ALWAYS crashes when it gets to the second phase. They’ve known about the problem for more than a year (I’ve reported it and so have others) and either can’t fix it or can’t be bothered to. So while I really like the game, there’s no point in playing it. I deleted it, picked it back up after a few years. The specific problem I reported before is fixed, but it’s super-buggy now. Can’t resume a game because it won’t load. Cards tend to freeze on the screen and won’t shrink down. Parasitism card often doesn’t work.

Interesting and enjoyable
Oceans is a rather unique card game that is easily one of my favorites. It’s not a deck builder, it’s a creature builder. The rules are simple, yet the strategies for survival can be quite complex. While there is some minor element of randomness and luck (it is a card game) skill and planning will be far more important as you can always just discard the cards you don’t need until you get something you do. The artwork on the cards is beautiful and colorful. The theme of the game ties well into the game play itself. And it’s just plain satisfying to create your own little ecosystem of interconnected species all benefiting from each other. If you enjoy interesting and unique card games, or find topics like evolution and marine biology interesting, give this game a try. Seriously.
