Peace Early Childhood Center (ECC) provides childcare for children from infant to pre-school. The cost to attend is based on the hours the child is at the school. In past years, the parents submit a paper calendar monthly which shows when (what days and hours) their child would be attending school. The ECC coordinator would then collate these calendars to determine how many children will be in each class (e.g. Infant, toddler, pre-school, etc.) in order to schedule the staff based on expected attendance. The collation of this information is known as the daily sheet. The Staff also submitted a monthly basis their availability. Over the past two years, a web-based application was developed to allow parents and staff to submit their attendance/availability online. The move to an online application has improved the productivity of the administrator by taking what used to be an 8-hour job, creating a week’s worth of daily sheets, to about 1 hour.
While the move to the web browser application was well received by most parents, some parents had trouble using the application because the only devices they had available to them to create and submit their attendance plans was a mobile device, either a cell phone or a tablet type device. Unfortunately, the web browser application did not work well on either of these two types of devices.
Now, we are finally bringing ECC calendaring to your smartphone and tablet.
