Knowing the sag, temperature, and tension is crucial in the construction and maintenance of properly designed power lines. Currently, a majority of constructed power lines are built without knowing if they meet the proper specifications. By implementing the Vulcan Line Tools app, line crews can quickly determine the sag, tension, and temperature in a line while they are building it. This ensures that the line is properly sagged and will not overstress the power pole. Overstressed power poles lead to pole failures which can result in expensive liability for electric utilities.
