ReportFires app helps users to make informed and timely responses to wildfires. It helps users to
-report wildfire quickly by simple map clicks
-get notification of wildfires near your location
-detect wildfire using rear camera and edge-based AI wildfire detection
-receive alerts of wildfires detected by LookOut wildfire detection service
Our AI wildfire detection is using Machine Learning object detection to identify early-stage wildfire. It analyzes the images captured by the iPhone rear wide-angle camera at regular intervals to detect wildfires near your home and generates sound alerts when it detects wildfire. It will estimate the wildfire location if
-the device is iPhone 8/8 Plus/XR/XR Max/XS/XS Max/11/11 Pro/11 Pro Max/SE(2nd gen)
-the iPhone is in landscape mode, with the rear camera at the upper-left corner, pointing to the area to detect wildfire
-the iPhone tilt angle is 30+ degrees, and its level is within +/- 2 degrees.
ReportFires will share the information of wildfire detected with the ReportFires user community if the iPhone is Internet-connected. A registered user will get notifications if any of his/her devices find potential wildfires with unknown locations.
Users will receive real-time notification of wildfire within 10km distance that is reported by other users. Users can view the wildfire location in the main map interface.
Users can quickly report wildfires they see by simple map clicks. Users can take and upload photos to provide more situational information about the wildfires.
It is a crowdsourcing app for users to report fire locations. The red flame icon represents the reported fire location. The system will turn the flame icon to grey color after 6 hours and will dismiss the icon after 48 hours. There are two statuses of any fire reported:
-pending: the fire reported is not verified
-verified: when authorized user verified it
There are three user types which all can detect, receive, and report wildfire information:
-Public user: can report wildfire with 10km distance
-Registered user: can report wildfire with 15km distance
-Authorized user: can report wildfire within 100km distance. Can access to the images reported and detected. It is for local government authority only. Please contact us at info@roboticscats.com for more details.
Wildfire information reported by the ReportFires app is also publicly available at reportfires.roboticscats.com.
