MendBetter is a wellness program designed to help you prepare for surgery. Research shows that consistently performing certain activities ahead of surgery leads to fewer complications, shorter stays in the hospital, and faster recovery. This is where MendBetter comes in.
Our team of physicians, nutritionists, athletic trainers, and therapists created MendBetter to bring you the best of prehab science. MendBetter is a simple, action-oriented program with a focus on key three areas:
Physical Fitness to train the body to perform very well under the strain of surgery and anesthesia
Nutrition to build up body stores for wound healing, fighting inflammation, and restoring energy
Mindset exercises to decrease stress and learn new skills for coping with anxiety and discomfort
Each day leading up to surgery, MendBetter provides activities to help get you ready. There are quick workouts, nutrition tips, anxiety-reducing meditations, and other tools meant to be informative and helpful. These activities require less than 30 minutes per day and are delivered as a mix of videos, podcasts, and readings. It’s OK if every day doesn’t go perfectly – we know some activities will feel more difficult or you may not have time to do everything. The important thing is striving to make some progress every single day. We’re on this journey with you, and we’re rooting for you every step of the way. You’ve got this!
