It's important that OPCMIA members act together in the political arena to protect our jobs, our health and our rights, and advance our interests. The OPCMIA Political Action Center gives you the tools to do exactly that. Our union gives all of us the power to shape our destiny.
The OPCMIA Political Action Center App consists of five main sections:
1. The "Take Action" section is where you can make your voice heard. It provides links to take action on national and local issues that are important to OPCMIA members and the greater labor movement.
2. The "Voting Resources" section is where you can register to vote, find your polling place, and request an absentee ballot.
3. The "GovWatch" section allows you to look up your legislators, keep track of important legislation moving through Congress and in your state, and see our Legislator Scorecard which shows you who is friend and who is foe to our labor values based on voting records.
4. The "News" section pulls articles related to actions, politics and legislation from our website (https://www.opcmia.org) so that you can get the latest news and information all in one place.
5. The "Action Builder" is a tool built from the ground up for organizing and leadership development.
Find Your Legislator lookup is a public resource provided free of charge by DataMade and the Participatory Budgeting Project and powered by the Google Civic Information API. Voter registration, voter lookup, and ballot request forms are also a public resource, provided free of charge, powered by Vote.org. The OPCMIA has no affiliation with these providers, makes no claim to represent these providers, and does not collect any personal data through these providers.
In the Bill Tracking and Legislator Scorecard sections, Legislator and election data is sourced from the Google Civic API, and state and federal legislation information is sourced from each relevant legislature website (e.g. https://www.congress.gov).
OPCMIA is associated with no government entities.
