The Hareni App is a tool for reading, creating and sharing Ury Diagrams (also called Talmud Diagrams) - a type of infographic that is used to represent opinions in the Gemara. A collection of Ury Diagrams can represent the entire Shakla V’tarya of a Sugya on a single page! Hareni helps you understand the Gemara quickly and accurately and aids in remembering an entire Sugya.
The word “Hareni” is Hebrew for “Show me” because Ury Diagrams are information-dense visual representations of complex opinions such as the ones found in the Talmud. The Hareni App can generate and display one or two-dimensional Ury Diagrams. The diagrams take the form of a table where each cell in the table represents a specific case. Hareni condenses a single Shita on a whole range of cases to a single diagram. This makes it easier to follow the questions and answers and different opinions expressed in the Gemara.
Gemara is often hard to learn because of the complexity of the opinions and arguments. Hareni provides a simple to use tool for reducing the complexity barrier that challenges students of the Talmud.
The Hareni App is a graphics program that can create, import and export collections of Ury Diagrams grouped by Sugya. The output of the App is either Hareni files or graphic images consisting of a collage of individual Ury Diagrams arranged on a page. The user interface is an intuitive drag and drop system that allows individual Ury Diagrams to be created and for selected diagrams from a collection of diagrams to be freely arranged on a page together with freeform text.
