About neurosymptoms FND Guide App:
Neurosymptoms FND Guide is a patients guide to Functional Neurological Disorder (FND).
It is an app version of neurosymptoms.org a website made by Professor Jon Stone and colleagues from the University of Edinburgh (Centre for Clinical Brain Sciences), a leading FND research centre.
FND is a common but hidden condition that is the second commonest reason to see a neurologist. It causes symptoms like limb weakness, tremor and seizures. Everyone with FND has slightly different symptoms.
Using the app:
Use the HOME page to find resources on different FND SYMPTOMS, as well as common associated symptoms such as pain.
On the MEDIA page you will find some introductory videos about FND and other material.
On the TREATMENT page, learn about different types of therapy that can help with FND.
Use the 'SAVE' icon in the top right hand corner to keep tabs of pages relevant to you and share with others. If you are a healthcare professional, you can collect pages to recommend and share with your patients using the same function.
Other new content in this version include a new FAQ section, pages on Functional Tics, Speech and Language Therapy and updated pages on 'Causes'. Thank you to everyone in the FND community who suggested new content.
The site and app will be continually updated. Please use the FEEDBACK page to make suggestions for new content.
This app has been created using funding from the Scottish Government and with Pooja Jain and her team at CogniHealth.
