About LunaTuna - Guitar Tuner
The tuner works in landscape and portrait, iPhone and iPad! Note that on iPad the mic is not at the bottom where the speakers are - it is at the top! Hold the mic close to the source if it is silent like an unplugged electric guitar.
As a bonus you can change the base frequency for the tuning from 440Hz to something else, if it fits your voice or instrument better. It is also a great way to drive your bandmates crazy :)

The best tuner for musicians
I experiment with instruments where tuning is an issue: cello, winds, etc. This app is very pleasant to keep open while playing: it looks great, and because of the design I can keep an eye on my pitch while keeping it in the periphery of my vision. There’s enough customization to make it super useful, like dialing in the precision. Pretty, and useful.
