"Let's go to the dentist?" Is an application developed to help people with ASD (Autistic Spectrum Disorder) to get used to the process of going to the dentist.
Developed as part of the doctoral thesis of a dentist specializing in the treatment of people with ASD, Adriana Zink, a prototype was used for data collection, and presented satisfactory results that were published in the article "Communication Application for Use During the First Dental Visit for Children and Adolescents with Autism Spectrum Disorders ", in the specialized journal Pediatric Dentistry (vol. 40, number 1, 2018). The prototype was expanded, updated and redesigned, giving rise to this application.
The application shows actual images of children in usual tasks at the dentist, with narration and explanation of situations that can be encountered during the challenge of going to the office for a first time for a treatment, and can be used with dialogues in Portuguese, English and Spanish , in addition to bringing videos illustrating common situations in the office and during tooth brushing.
