Iceland Public Holidays 2023

Formerly ruled by Norway and Denmark, the majority of public holidays and observances in Iceland are based on strong Scandinavian and Roman Catholic traditions. Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve are recognized as half-day holidays, with most workers dismissed at noon.
