Unique sounds
Using additive and spectral synthesis the almost endless possibilities also happen to be very musical. The interface may seem daunting at first but is actually very useful and smart. The multi lane arppegiator is an extremely useful feature, with multiple lanes that are multi timbral and as such offer complex, but organic sounding results. I’ve been using Tera Ion the desktop since it was released. And it only continues to get better. There are so many ways of manipulating sound, but it might seem daunting, it is something once you’re used to the graphical interface is obscenely capable. There are literally almost every kind of timbre available by using its synthesis engine including a useful, musical randomizer. But let’s be honest, it is a complex synth and there are a plethora of useful presets ready to be explored and tweaked. It’s an excellent way to learn how the synth works. There are not many synthesizers that I wax poetic about. VerSyn makes several. If you’re positive you’re never going to want to program look at Teraverse, it’s a cut down version with all of the presets at a very reasonable price. I would encourage anyone thinking of Terraverse to think of Tera Pro, it’s so capable, and to me one of the most fun synthesizers to program.

Still silly UI
You open anything 1) you don’t indicate the current setting, 2) you HAVE to make a choice. 3) you can’t exit without being forced to make a choice. I mean, come on! Really irritating. A whole lot of ‘features’ doesn’t necessarily make a good app. Back to my book. Mmmzzz…
