About Five Bells
The ship’s bell has traditionally been used to mark the passage of time and the changeover of watches aboard ships.
Five Bells aims to replicate this tradition on your iPhone®. Bells can be configured to sound a traditional or simplified sequence. Alternatively, a single bell can be struck every hour.
A scheduled quiet-time can be enabled to prevent bells from sounding during a scheduled period.
Additional information relevant to sailors is also provided.

It’s fun. I pretty much can tell time with it all through the night. It’s not intrusive, it’s sort of subliminal During the day it’s a conversation starter. Old sailors hardly seem to hear it.

I’ve had this app for quite a while and love it but just recently it started chiming late. Not sure if this can be fixed by the designers but I hope it can. Please try!
