MCPL Grow A Reader

Learning to read begins before children start school and even before they can pick up a book. Use MCPL Grow A Reader to help your child develop important pre-reading skills they need to become successful readers and lifelong learners, including talking, listening, singing, rhyming, reading, sharing, writing, creating, playing, and imagining. The Grow A Reader app includes books, tips, and videos that caregivers can use to help prepare their child for school and create a strong foundation for future learning.

Mid-Continent Public Library has many free resources for parents and caregivers of babies, toddlers, and preschoolers that are available online and at its branches. The Library offers storytimes, as well as books, eBooks, eAudiobooks, CDs, and online resources for adults to help their child get ready to read.
