BC Wallet is a digital wallet app from the Government of British Columbia.
With it you can securely receive, store and present digital credentials such as licenses, memberships, IDs, permits, and more.
Privacy is a focus of BC Wallet. The Government of British Columbia is not informed when you use your credentials. You only use the parts of your credentials that are needed for any given situation. Credentials are only used over secure, confidential connections, and you approve each use.
Currently, most people will not have a use for BC Wallet because there are very few digital credentials available. It is an exploration of the technology. Most of the available digital credentials are for testing purposes only.
BC Wallet works with credentials in the Verifiable Credential format, which is different from some other digital wallets. The wallet is built from open-source code by the Government of British Columbia.
