About Haptic Heart
Haptic Heard: A novel haptic cardiac simulator designed to help medical students and junior resident doctors practice their cardiovascular examination techniques! Haptic Heart generates patterns of vibrations designed to mimic the human heartbeat. Patterns are displayed alongside a phonocardiogram and can be interpreted both tactilely and auditorily via a stethoscope.
Haptic Heart can generate additional heart sounds, murmurs or a combination of both. The patterns of vibrations are calculated dynamically on the device allowing you to practice at different heart rates and see how this changes the pattern. You're also able to adjust the intensity of different elements within the pattern test yourself using the in-built quiz function. Please note that these materials are for use as an educational tool and are not a source of medical decision making advice.
Supported Devices:
Unfortunately due to hardware limitations only the iPhone 8 and later are supported when using Haptic Heart. Due to lack of required hardware it is not possible to use the application on iPad.
