Our tennis facility is second to none with newly resurfaced, air conditioned indoor courts, the latest video technology and clean, comfortable locker rooms. Off the court, our clubhouse has everything players and spectators need before, during and after play.
Doylestown Tennis Club was the concept of two friends, Ed Mullaney and Duane Murner. With nothing but a dream and a handshake they began their quest in January, 1972. Exhausting their savings by December and turned down by 22 banks and 25 investors, both men prayed for a miracle. Within 48 hours they had a loan. A week later, 9 investors. The Doylestown Tennis Club opened its doors on September 15, 1973.
With Ed’s vision of customer service, the club flourished. In 1995, Jim Klein joined as head pro and grew the teaching staff to five, all teaching by the same physics based approach developed by Tennis Hall of Famer, Vic Braden. With a full teaching staff now in place, Ed had created the ideal club he and Duane envisioned in 1972. Ed and his wife, Karen, managed the club until his passing in 2020. In July, 2020 Karen sold the club to Jim Klein and two long time members- Jack Morrash and Soren Christiansen.
As we look forward to a new era in the ownership of the Doylestown Tennis Club, there is much we want to continue. At the same time, we are planning on bringing new playing and instructional opportunities for you and your family all year round. See you on the court!
