About Kinder App

The KINDER app supports the Year of Kindness Campaign initiated by the Rotary Club of Mumbai Bravehearts, the Rotaract Club of Mumbai Bravehearts, Kindness Unlimited, the World Kindness Movement and The Teenager Today magazine and supported by thousands of individuals and organisations across the world.

The Year of Kindness was launched on the second anniversary of the pandemic and the ensuing lockdown in March 2022. These two years not only saw untold misery and suffering but also amazing stories of kindness and generosity both from officials from all spheres as well as the ordinary citizen. It was with a view to honour, celebrate and encourage this spirit of generosity and kindness and create a ‘kindemic’ across the world that the Year of Kindness campaign was launched on 27th March 2022.

The campaign works on two fronts – (i) everybody is encouraged to perform at least one act of kindness a day & (ii) the recipient of the kind act is encouraged to ‘pay it forward’ and do a kind act to somebody else and continue the chain of kindness.

The KINDER App

The KINDER App has the following key functionalities –

i. It enables an individual or an organization to record an act of kindness done by them
ii. It also enables an individual or organization to record and act of kindness done to them
iii. Kindness is broadly defined as kindness to oneself, kindness to other humans, kindness to other living beings such as birds, animals, etc and kindness to the environment besides others
iv. After an individual registers himself or herself on the app, s/he can start entering these acts of kindness and track their kindness journey over a period of time
v. When you enter an act of kindness, details of the receiver of the kind act need to be entered as well. This enables the app to send this person a reminder to pay this kindness forward as also to download the app and log in these acts of kindness
vi. Wherever these details are not given, the act of kindness is recorded but that particular chain stops at that point.
vii. The backend of the app tracks the spread of the kindness movement across geographies and also records the breadth and depth of the spread. This enables the app to identify the longest and widest chains of kindness as also individuals and organisations who are making maximum impact across the world
viii. The app link can be shared by members through their social media accounts to enable people and organizations across the world to join the movement.

The KINDER App has been designed by Inventeam Solutions Pvt Ltd., a Mumbai, India, based software solutions company.

About the KINDER logo

The KINDER logo plays on the top bar of the E in the name. It is transformed into a hand moving upwards. Three similar hands seem to be leading the way. They signify ‘helping hands’, symbolizing acts of kindness. The hands themselves are shaped like birds thus giving the impression of birds taking flight. This is to depict the ‘Pay It Forward’ principle – many kind acts being paid forward gives the movement wings to encompass the world. These wings can also be used to depict the movement as a standalone icon.

The orange colour signifies fire – the energy that comes from a movement of this kind, where every person and every hand strengthens the cause of creating a kinder world.

The logo has been designed by Think Creative, a Brand Consulting and Creative Agency, based in Mumbai, India.
