About Keep Sparky Safe

Keep Sparky Safe is an active Augmented Reality (AR) mobile game designed for children 4-12 years old.

With Sparky the dog, students learn to identify electrical equipment and when they are unsafe due to damage.

The AR allows students to come face to face with dangerous electrical scenarios, without being in any real danger.

THE GAME:
Move around in the real environment, following Sparky the dog. Observing 3D electrical objects popping up on screen which Sparky goes to investigate. The students can look all around the object then decide is Sparky is safe going near or touching it.

Students will earn pawprints and lightning bolts by correctly identifying if the electrical equipment that appears safe or unsafe for Sparky to be around. Equipment will keep appearing until they assign them all correctly.

WHAT STUDENTS WILL LEARN:
The game teaches students to recognise unsafe situations involving common electrical equipment including:

- power poles and lines
- transformer or switching cabinets
- underground connection pillars (also called green domes)
- substations

All electrical equipment can be dangerous if damaged. The game also shows the students how to identify whether it's safe or unsafe.

A brief game exit quiz will provide a student score for recognising unsafe electrical equipment.
