About CPR WUM

Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) is a crucial skill regardless of the chosen field of study. Performed correctly, CPR saves lives. Correct heart massage - maintaining the required depth and frequency of compressions - is essential. It is one of the conditions for successful resuscitation.

The principles of CPR can be learnt, but a lack of practice reduces the effectiveness of CPR a year after training. It is one of the practical skills that need regular exercise

You never know when you will have to prove your skills in real life. With CPR WUM simulations, you will be better prepared.

CPR WUM is an application used to conduct practical classes. Students are invited to take courses based on a previously set timetable. To complete the practical courses, students borrow training phantoms from the Department of Medical Informatics and Telemedicine (ul. Litewska 14, floor 3).

After opening the app, simple instructions will guide you on pairing the phantom with your phone or tablet. The phone or tablet should be placed in front of the phantom during the resuscitation session. The screen with the application must constantly be in your eyesight.

Each training session ends with information on whether heart massage was carried out correctly. Thanks to the feedback, your technique will improve with each session. The course ends with an examination session, which you can take three times. The phantom must be returned after the practical course.

During the exam session, the application will take several photos recording your approach to the exam. The photos will only be saved on your phone. They are not held in any other place or automatically shared. Please keep them in your phone's memory - when returning the phantom, you will be asked to confirm that you have completed the exam session correctly by showing the photos to a WUM employee.

The Medical Simulation Centre team supervises the courses. Administrative and technical support is provided by the Department of Medical Informatics and Telemedicine - contact: zimt@wum.edu.pl
